A little rain wasn't going to ruin Coachella for this crowd.

As the desert music festival kicked off the first of two weekends of shows on Friday night in Indio, Calif., Lauren Conrad snapped pictures of gray skies and Emma Roberts tweeted about the gloomy 50 degree forecast."I hope this rain stops!" tweeted Roberts. "I wanna wear dresses and shorts!"

"New fashion trend at @coachella this year: winter clothes," tweeted Colin Hanks.

"Layers at coachella. Not happy about that. Gotta do what you gotta do," tweeted Whitney Port.

Strange temperatures aside, the Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, Frank Ocean and Pulp helped kick off the weekend. Tony Hawk was there snapping pics via Instagram from the Black Keys stage, while Jared Leto went on "an epic hike" pre-festival and then checked out Mazzy Star. Elsewhere, festival veteran Kate Bosworth got cozy walking around with boyfriend Michael Polish. Big names like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Bon Iver, Radiohead and the Shins will continue take the stage this weekend.
