Has airline etiquette gone to the dogs? Kristin Chenoweth thinks so.
On Tuesday, the actress cryptically tweeted: "American Airlines: Dallas flight attnt supservisor: Ms Kidwell. Abuse not ok. #tripfromhell"
Today, TMZ has the back story: Apparently, earlier this week, when Chenoweth tried to board a Dallas to L.A. flight with her Maltese Maddie, her emotional support dog, she was berated by a gate agent supervisor in front of several passengers - a lashing that brought Chenoweth to tears. Chenoweth, who regularly flies with her canine companion, countered that she had ticked all appropriate boxes to allow Maddie to board.
American acknowledged it had made a mistake and let Maddie on. "We have been in touch with Ms. Chenoweth to offer our apologies for the misunderstanding. We refunded the ($125) cabin pet charge as soon as we realized the mistake. We hope she will consider flying American again in the future," an American rep told the website.
One of Chenoweth's followers challenged her decision to out the employee: "No matter how rude she was, was it really necessary to publicly humiliate her?"
The actress countered: "yes it was necessary. I hope to help this not happen to anyone else. :)"
